About The Role
Band 5 - base salary from $154,000 per annum (plus super)

As renewable energy, electrification, and customer energy resources continue to reshape the electricity sector, we are seeking a Senior Network Innovation Engineer to lead the development and delivery of innovative solutions that create value for customers, communities, and the business.
This is a unique opportunity to influence the future of the electricity network by driving projects that support the transition to a smarter, more sustainable, and more customer-focused energy system.
You will work across technical, commercial, and strategic domains, helping shape the capabilities required for the future Distribution System Operator (DSO) environment while supporting the integration of emerging technologies and new energy solutions.
As a Senior Network Innovation Engineer, you will play a key role in identifying, assessing, developing, and delivering innovative initiatives that support TasNetworks' strategic objectives and long-term vision.
About You
You will be a motivated and innovative engineering professional with a degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline) and at least five years’ experience within electricity utilities or a similar industry. You will combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and a proven ability to lead complex projects from concept through to implementation.
You Will Bring
Demonstrated alignment with TasNetworks’ values and core competencies. Expertise in smart grids, Customer Energy Resources (CER), and emerging energy technologies. Experience delivering complex projects and innovation initiatives from ideation through to business-as-usual operations. Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, engineering standards, and industry guidelines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
