This is a part-time, ongoing engagement reporting directly to the CEO. The Fractional CFO will act as a strategic financial partner establishing the infrastructure, controls, and reporting needed to support sustainable growth. About the Role Reporting, Budgeting & Forecasting Produce regular financial reporting packages (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for the CEO and leadership team. Build and maintain financial models, annual budgets, and rolling forecasts to support planning and decision-making. Track key financial and operational metrics (utilization, project margins, revenue by contract/client). Cash Flow & Working Capital Management Monitor cash position and manage working capital, with attention to government payment cycles and invoicing timelines. Advise on cash flow optimization, including billing practices and accounts receivable management. Performance Dashboard, Insights and Forecasting Implement dashboards that provide real-time, at-a-glance insight into business performance and financial projections. Identify opportunities to reduce expenses, increase revenue, and optimize operations. Create detailed long-term forecasts that guide revenue growth and hiring plans. Strategic Advisory & Oversight Advise the CEO on financial strategy, growth planning, and key business decisions. Oversee the bookkeeping function (in-house or outsourced) and ensure accuracy of financial records. Assist with cost proposals, pricing strategy, and contract profitability analysis for enterprise bids. About You 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including prior CFO, controller, or senior finance leadership roles. Experience in IT services, government contracting, or professional services environments strongly preferred. Demonstrated track record building financial systems and processes from the ground up at growing companies. Strong proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks,) and financial modeling tools. CPA, MBA, or equivalent credential preferred. Excellent communication skills and comfort advising executive leadership and the board.
