The role requires close collaboration with departmental managers to ensure efficient, safe, and cost-effective factory operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities Coordinate all factory construction activities as the designated Project Manager and ensure timely completion of works and availability of all required resources. Participate in the installation and commissioning of all equipment at Ravine Dairies Limited, working closely with the equipment suppliers’ technical teams. Liaise with all appointed contractors and installation teams, including plumbing, electrical, welding, mechanical, technical, and ETP suppliers, to ensure proper coordination and completion of all installations. Ensure all equipment installations comply with engineering standards, tolerances, and specifications, as well as ISO, HACCP, and other applicable industry standards. Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, and calibration to ensure proper functionality before operational use. Oversee the inventory and availability of components, spare parts, and supplies required during installation and commissioning activities. Participate in developing technical specifications for equipment, products, and substitute materials to be procured by the company. Examine documents, materials, products, and work processes to assess accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approved standards and specifications. Ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the factory. Liaise with Management in planning, scheduling, and executing all engineering and factory projects, including equipment overhauls, upgrades, and acquisitions. Coordinate and participate in plant equipment and machinery audits and prepare detailed reports on their technical status. Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and condition-based maintenance programs for all plant equipment and machinery. Manage inventory levels of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies. Install, repair, and maintain equipment and mechanical systems to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Work closely with the Production Manager to develop and implement maintenance procedures that continuously improve plant performance. Ensure proper upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of all plant facilities and equipment. Maintain the security, confidentiality, and integrity of all engineering department records and information. Organize, supervise, direct, and motivate maintenance personnel to achieve optimal productivity. Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, environmental, and regulatory requirements applicable to factory operations. Ensure adherence to product quality specifications and quality assurance standards. Manage engineering and maintenance budgets effectively, ensuring cost control and prevention of budget overruns. Provide sound technical support and engineering solutions that maximize operational efficiency and company returns. Ensure efficient operation and reliability of plant machinery to achieve organizational objectives. Promote and enforce compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, food safety, and quality standards. Provide leadership, coaching, training, and motivation to staff under supervision. Ensure all safety, health, environmental, and quality control requirements are effectively implemented and maintained. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to approved procedures and quality standards. Keep Management informed of all engineering and operational activities and promptly report any incidents requiring management intervention. Prepare timely and accurate operational reports for Management and Directors and recommend modernization and renovation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce. Provide effective project management support to ensure projects are completed within approved timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Perform any other duties assigned by Management from time to time. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. Professional registration with the relevant engineering body will be an added advantage. Certification in Engineering Maintenance, Quality Management, Food Safety Systems, or Project Management will be an added advantage. Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in a manufacturing environment within the dairy industry, with demonstrated experience in dairy processing operations. Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within a factory setting. Demonstrated knowledge of dairy processing equipment and utility systems. Strong knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance management systems. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong leadership, supervisory, and team management abilities. Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, ISO standards, and occupational safety requirements.
