Machakos County, nicknamed 'Macha,’ was the first capital city of Kenya and is now an administrative county in Kenya. Machakos is made up of eight (8) constituencies including Machakos Town, Mavoko, Masinga, Yatta, Kangundo, Kathiani, Matungulu, and Mwala. Machakos Town is the administrative capital of the County.Duties and Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive mental state examinations to diagnose complex conditions like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, and anxiety disorders.  Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications (e.g., antidepressants, antipsychotics, stimulants) to balance brain chemistry.  Develop and implement tailored treatment plans which may include psychotherapy, medication, or both.  Order and interpret laboratory tests and brain imaging to rule out physical illnesses (like thyroid issues) that cause psychiatric symptoms.  Administer advanced treatments like electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), and deep brain stimulation.  Manage mental health crises and provide care for patients with suicidal ideation or severe mental illness Requirement for Appointment: Bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery (MB.Ch.B) degree from an Institution recognized by Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board. Master of Medicine (M.Med) in Psychiatry Certificate of Registration by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board  Certificate of Recognition from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC) Valid practicing license from Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board At least nine (9) years of working experience SLDP lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution Certificate in Computer application skills from a recognized institution
