Experience using Braille embossers and transcription software Understanding of accessible learning materials for visually impaired learners OR Diploma in Education with a specialization in Special Needs Education. 5 years’ relevant experience in a recognized institution. Experience using Braille embossers and transcription software Understanding of accessible learning materials for visually impaired learners Key responsibilities also include Reporting to: Dean of Students Duties and responsibilities: Assist visually impaired students in accessing academic and non-academic materials. Convert printed materials into accessible formats including braille, audio, or digital formats as required. Support students with disabilities during lectures, tutorials, and examinations. Provide reading and transcription services for visually impaired users. Operate assistive technologies and devices used for learning support. Ensure timely preparation and delivery of accessible learning materials. Maintain confidentiality of academic documents and examination materials. Support disability inclusion services within Mount Kenya University. Assist in orientation and support programmes for students with visual impairments. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
