Our approach to care is guided by our core principles of Quality, Access, Impact and Relevance.​Responsibilities:  Receives specimens for general and specialized for Molecular assays.  Analyze tests with maximum efficiency Ensure timely reporting of critical values  Produce valid results ensuring maximum utilization of reagents and time. Analyze tests with maximum efficiency signed by senior laboratory staff. Equipment maintenance. Maintain appropriate internal controls on all processes in Molecular biology testing Manage routine and planned preventive maintenance of equipment in the section Run internal controls and QC with all   Molecular assays Develop and implement SOPs in Molecular. Participate in SOP writing in the section. Observe and comply with Health and Safety regulations in the laboratory Maintaining high standards of hygiene and general cleanliness in work areas. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Participate in continuous medical education. Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time supervisor or designee. Prepare and package samples at appropriate temperature   to be outsourced and hand-over to collection agents Teach practical skills to students and other Laboratory technicians. Requirements: Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognized institute or equivalent Registered with Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board. Minimum 3 years’ working experience Competent in Molecular Skills including nucleic acid isolation from variety of samples, QC procedures and analysis, PCR techniques, sequencing techniques including next-generation sequencing. Competent in operating the usual open and closed molecular equipment and platforms. Competent in operating manual and automated workflows. Bioinformatic skills are an added advantage. Well versed in the required discipline Team player Attention to detail Good communication skills (both written and oral)
