Pwani University began as Kilifi Institute of Agriculture in 1984 though the first intake of 200 students for the Two Year Certificate Course in Agriculture and Home Economics was in July 1987. By 2007, Kilifi Institute of Agriculture had graduated 3,837 students. The Institute also hosted a number of Masters and PhD research students from other national universities. On 23rd August 2007, Kilifi Institute of Agriculture was upgraded to a Constituent College of Kenyatta University, and in March 2013, it was given a charter as a full- fledged University. It is strategically placed in the heart of the Coastal region of Kenya in Kilifi Town, right on the Mombasa-Malindi Highway; and is equipped with facilities to offer quality training in Tropical Agriculture, Tropical Medicine, Marine Sciences and Education. The University has engaged highly qualified staff members.REF: PU/ADV/02/07/2026 REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION OF ASSISTANT FARM MANAGER I GRADE 10 This is a senior-level position in this cadre in the University and appointment shall be on such terms and conditions as may be determined by the Council from time to time depending on age, citizenship or any other reason as may be stipulated in the Kenyan Labour Laws. Academic Qualification The candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Agriculture/Agribusiness Studies or its equivalent from a recognized Institution, with bias in Accounting and Finance. Experience The candidate must have ten (10) years of continuous work experience, three (3) ofwhich should be at the level of Assistant Farm Manager II or comparable grade with proven integrity, honesty, independence, innovativeness and compliance to deadlines. In addition, the candidate should have experience in the following; Maintenance of farm records and inventory Monitoring the quality of production and performance within the farm Preparation of daily farm operation reports Preparation of work schedules Preparation of workplans, budgets and procurement plans Undertake planning and setting production target
