It consists of skilled and dedicated health specialists, professionals, support staff, volunteers and physicians who promote wellness, prevent disease and injury, and provide healthcare every day to a diverse population in Kenya, especially those living in urban centres.Overall Responsibility To provide safe, effective, and evidence-based anaesthesia services by assessing patients, administering anaesthesia, monitoring patients throughout surgical procedures, and supporting post-operative recovery in accordance with clinical protocols and professional standards. Key Responsibilities: Conduct pre-anaesthetic assessments and prepare patients for surgical procedures. Administer general, regional, and local anaesthesia as appropriate within the scope of practice. Continuously monitor patients before, during, and after anaesthesia, ensuring prompt intervention where necessary. Operate and monitor anaesthesia machines, ventilators, and other related equipment. Assist in airway management, resuscitation, and emergency life support during surgical procedures. Ensure accurate documentation of anaesthetic procedures and patient records. Maintain infection prevention and patient safety standards within the operating theatre. Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal perioperative care. Ensure proper maintenance, functionality, and safe use of anaesthetic equipment and supplies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and continuous professional development. Provide patient education on anaesthetic procedures and post-operative recovery where appropriate. Adhere to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards governing clinical practice. Job Qualifications & Skills  Degree or Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery Higher Diploma Clinical Medicine & Surgery (Anaesthesia) Registered and licensed by the Clinical Officers Council with a valid practicing license. Current certification in Basic Life Support & Advanced Cardiac Life Support. At least two years' experience in administering anaesthesia within a busy hospital setting. Strong knowledge of anaesthetic techniques, airway management, patient monitoring, and emergency response. Excellent clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
