The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) was established by the Government of Kenya on the 14th of January 2013 under an Act of Parliament-Act No.4 of 2013, to provide research based curricula and curriculum support materials responsive to the needs of the society.Duties and Responsibilities Spearheading the development and enforcement of quality assurance policies, procedures and standards in development of curriculum and curriculum support materials. Leading the planning and execution of quality assessments of curriculum and curriculum support materials. Coordinating external stakeholder feedback for continuous improvement initiatives in development of curriculum and curriculum support materials. Advising management on strategies to enhance compliance with appropriate quality standards in curriculum and curriculum support materials. Providing technical guidance to departments on quality integration in development of curriculum and curriculum support materials. Monitoring implementation of audit recommendations and institutional performance against set benchmarks in curriculum development. Coordinating capacity building for staff in quality assurance and evaluation of curriculum and curriculum support materials. Requirement for Appointment Cumulative work experience of twelve (12) years, three (3) of which must have been at the grade of Principal Quality Assurance Officer or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Studies, Quality Assurance, or related field from a recognized institution; Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Studies, Quality Assurance, or related field from a recognized institution; Leadership course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing (where applicable); Certificate in computer applications; Demonstrated high degree of professional competence, managerial capability, and integrity as reflected in work performance and results.
