Maseno University is a university based in Maseno, near Kisumu, Kenya, founded in 1991. It is one of seven public universities in Kenya.MSU/ACA/SPBS/DOZ/01/26 Requirements for Appointment: At least a Certificate in Animal Health Production, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Technology or its equivalent from accredited and recognized institution; At least Two (2) years’ experience working with laboratory animals; A minimum of KCSE Mean Grade of D+ (Plus); Familiarity with laboratory animal care, protocols and procedures; Must possess animal handling and restraining skills; Experience with data entry and record-keeping systems; Well vast with practical demonstrations for undergraduate students; Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding ethical care and use of animals; and Good verbal and written communication skills. Duties & Responsibilities: Providing daily care for laboratory animals (mice, rats, rabbits, etc.); Observation of animals for signs of illness and maintaining general hygiene in the facility; Assisting learner and researchers with animal restraint, vaccination, dissections, sample collection and administration of treatment; and Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
