Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrical Engineer role based in Nairobi. The Electrical Engineer will design, review, and implement electrical systems for new and existing projects, ensuring compliance with local codes, standards, and safety regulations. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing technical drawings and documentation, performing load calculations, selecting equipment and materials, and supporting installation, testing, and commissioning activities. The role involves diagnosing and resolving electrical issues on-site, coordinating with project managers, technicians, and external stakeholders, and providing technical input during project planning and budgeting. The Electrical Engineer will also support continuous improvement by reviewing system performance, recommending upgrades, and maintaining accurate records of all electrical work. Qualifications
Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering principles and application across commercial, industrial, or residential projects. Proficiency in Electrical Design, including schematics, layouts, load calculations, and equipment specification. Hands-on understanding of Electricity fundamentals, safety practices, and troubleshooting methods for live systems. Experience with Power Distribution systems, panel boards, cabling, protection devices, and coordination studies. Knowledge of Power Systems, including reliability, energy efficiency, and integration with backup or renewable sources. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Familiarity with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulatory requirements in Kenya. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and installation manuals. Proficiency with engineering and design software (e.g., CAD tools) and basic office productivity tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and safety. Ability to work on-site, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Professional registration or eligibility for registration with a recognized engineering body is an advantage.
