Role Description The Advocate will provide legal advice, draft and review legal documents, and represent clients in court and before tribunals. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, preparing pleadings, contracts, and correspondence, and managing case files from intake to resolution. The role involves attending court sessions, client meetings, negotiations, and mediations, while maintaining accurate records and meeting all procedural deadlines. The Advocate will collaborate with colleagues on complex matters, contribute to internal knowledge sharing, and support business development initiatives where needed. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi. Qualifications Admitted to practice as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, with a valid practicing certificate. Strong legal research, analysis, and drafting skills, including the ability to interpret statutes, case law, and regulations. Proven experience in litigation and/or commercial practice, including court appearances and case management. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to clients and colleagues. High level of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality in handling client matters. Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with capacity to handle multiple files and meet strict deadlines. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and to build positive client relationships. Proficiency in standard office software and legal research tools; familiarity with legal case management systems is an advantage. Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognized institution and completion of Kenya School of Law or equivalent requirements. Prior experience in a law firm setting in Nairobi or similar jurisdiction is an added advantage.
